Το όνομα SokMi αντλεί έμπνευση από τον ήχο της παύσης — από τη στιγμή ανάμεσα στο πριν και το μετά. Δεν περιγράφει. Δεν ορίζει.
Αν και είναι ένα επίπλαστο όνομα, οι συλλαβές του θυμίζουν ηχητικά τη λέξη “Sok” (속) που στα κορεάτικα σημαίνει μέσα, εσωτερικό, πυρήνας. Χρησιμοποιείται για να περιγράψει όχι μόνο το εσωτερικό του σώματος, αλλά και τον εσωτερικό κόσμο, το συναίσθημα, την αλήθεια που δεν φαίνεται. Και τη λεξη “mi” (미) που σημαίνει ομορφιά. Όχι τη διακοσμητική ομορφιά, αλλά εκείνη που υπάρχει από μόνη της. Εμπνευσμένο από αυτά, το SokMi εκπροσωπεί την «ομορφιά που υπάρχει μέσα».
Εμπνέεται από τη φιλοσοφία του Wabi Sabi, όχι ως αισθητική τάση, αλλά ως στάση ζωής - ασυμμετρία, ατελή ομορφιά, αντίθεση. Όπως ένα σπάσιμο σε κεραμικό raku, το SokMi είναι σκόπιμα κοφτό: αληθινό, παρόν, μη επαναλαμβανόμενο. Εκεί που το Wabi Sabi Skin μιλούσε για αποδοχή, το SokMi μιλά για συνειδητή επιλογή. Δεν υπόσχεται μεταμόρφωση, δημιουργεί τις συνθήκες για παρουσία χωρίς πίεση.
Η φροντίδα, για το SokMi, δεν είναι διαδικασία ούτε αποτέλεσμα. Είναι σχέση. Είναι ρυθμός. Είναι χώρος. Κάθε προϊόν, κάθε εμπειρία και κάθε φυσικός ή ψηφιακός χώρος Sok mi υπάρχει για να υποστηρίζει — όχι να διορθώνει, να συνοδεύει — όχι να ορίζει.
Το SokMi δεν εξηγεί. Δεν απολογείται. Δεν προσπαθεί να αρέσει. Επιλέγει το λιγότερο, σκόπιμα. Γιατί η φροντίδα δεν χρειάζεται διόρθωση. Χρειάζεται πρόθεση. Υπάρχει για όσους έχουν ήδη κουραστεί από την υπερβολή και επιλέγουν λιγότερα, πιο ουσιαστικά. Γιατί η ομορφιά δεν ξεκινά από το τι λείπει. Ξεκινά από αυτό που ήδη υπάρχει μέσα.

SokMi was born from the need to rethink care — not as correction, but as choice. In a world that insists on explaining and improving, SokMi chooses to remove. To leave space. To not interfere more than necessary.
The name SokMi draws inspiration from the sound of a pause — the moment between before and after. It does not describe. It does not define.
Although it is a constructed name, its syllables echo the word “Sok” (속), which in Korean means inside, inner, core. It is used to describe not only the inside of the body, but also the inner world — emotion, and the unseen truth. And “mi” (미), meaning beauty. Not decorative beauty, but the kind that exists on its own. Inspired by this, SokMi represents “the beauty that exists within.”
It is inspired by the philosophy of Wabi Sabi — not as an aesthetic trend, but as a way of being: asymmetry, imperfection, contrast. Like a crack in raku pottery, SokMi is intentionally abrupt: real, present, unrepeatable. Where Wabi Sabi Skin spoke of acceptance, SokMi speaks of conscious choice. It does not promise transformation; it creates the conditions for presence without pressure.
For SokMi, care is neither a process nor a result. It is a relationship. It is rhythm. It is space. Every product, every experience, and every physical or digital SokMi space exists to support — not to correct, to accompany — not to define.
SokMi does not explain. It does not apologize. It does not try to please. It chooses less, intentionally. Because care does not need correction. It needs intention. It exists for those who are already tired of excess and choose less, more meaningful. Because beauty does not begin with what is missing. It begins with what is already within.
